Thinking about thinking.

“Because of limits in human mental capacity, the mind cannot cope directly with the complexity of the world. Rather, we construct a simplified mental model of reality and behave rationally within the confines of our mental model.”

Most listen to speak, few listen to listen.

Leonardo Da Vinci. Because of his proclivity to study many things, Leonardo was better able to make analogies across disciplines that helped his understanding of the world. For example, Da Vinci applied his thinking in studying anatomy (the human body) to form his thoughts on how to properly design a city…who knew traditional Urban Design has linkage to the human body / blood flow around the human heart region is probably used to design the center of the city (back then, city center was consider the hub of innovation, finance, commerce, religion, government and everything in between) We should therefore study many disciplines. For example, the study of investing is also the study of human behavior. And in order to better understand human behavior, you should expand your interests beyond the finance aisle of your local bookstore.
