This is interesting as laptops are getting real thin and semiconductors still continues to obey the Moore’s Law but camera lens has yet to reach magnitude of improvements in terms of thinness…so manufacturers are getting creative on where they can stuff their camera lenses. Latest iPhone is going through similar hardware innovation challenges as well.
Thereby, this will likely create incremental new demand for standalone webcams due to the inability to build camera lenses into the millimeter-thin laptop. Also, it’s not too bad of a way to build peripheral service around Skype (in competition with Zoom and the likes). Though the saturation of the webcam market with Logitech and the likes is another ballgame.
